Hello Reader,

Kenny Loggins sings, “I’m free — heaven helps the man who fights his fear.”

It’s a lyric from Footloose (yes, this is a callback to Issue 33) but it could easily be a mantra for anyone standing on the edge of change.

We tend to treat fear as the opposite of freedom — something to overcome or eliminate. But fear isn’t a barrier; it’s a mirror. It reflects what matters most. The trick isn’t to silence it but to learn its rhythm — to move with it instead of away from it.

Freedom doesn’t come from the absence of fear. It comes from motion — the decision to keep going, even when the tremor in your chest insists you stop. The dancers in Footloose weren’t fearless. They were afraid, but they moved anyway. That’s what made it powerful.

Fear, when faced, transforms. It softens from warning into wisdom. It teaches you what’s worth your courage — and what never required it in the first place.
